We carry over 200 styles of running shoes, trainers, road racing and track included, but we’ve decided to share with you some product description on key new shoes. Stay tuned, because we will constantly be updating these evaluations.

Neutral:
Asics Cumulus XII  $99.99 11.8oz/9.7oz wo'soz

A great new update to one of Asics most versatile neutral cushion trainers. Aside from the cool new look, this season’s Cumulus offers runners a more spacious toe-box and an improved upper fit for added comfort.

Asics Nimbus XII   $124.99 12.5oz/11.0oz wo's

The newest model of the Nimbus continues to provide runners with the same great feel as its predecessors. The Nimbus 12 is Asics’ most cushioned neutral trainer and this season offers a series of new additions that will increase comfort and performance, such as an Asymmetrical lacing design.

Brooks Defyance III   $99.99 11.3oz/9.0oz wo's

Replacing the Defyance II, this new update gives runners a great neutral ride with minimal stability.

Brooks Glycerin VIII   $129.99 10.3oz

One of Brooks’ most innovative and cushioning sneakers, and also the Runners World Magazine editor’s choice for spring 2010. The Glycerin introduces the new DNA mid-sole technology, a responsive cushioning system designed to cater to runners of all sizes and speeds.

Nike Vomero +V   $129.99 12.4oz/8.5oz wo's

The leading cushioning sneaker for Nike, the Vomero targets runners with a neutral gate and gives them outstanding impact protection along with a sleek and smooth upper to improve cushioning and fit.

NB 1064   $129.99 12.2oz/9.75 oz wo's

The replacement to the 1063, the 1064 maintains a great level of cushioning and that same deep toe-box, and provides runners with a stylishly well designed upper.

Mizuno Rider XIII   $99.99 11.7oz/9.7oz wo's

The newest update to the Rider series, the Rider 13 continues to cater.

Puma Complete Ventis   $99.99 13.0oz/10.75oz wo's

Excellent neutral trainer with a sprung toe design and on sale for $69.99.

Brooks Dyad VI
$99.99 12.0 oz. neutral

We stock 3 widths in both men's and women's simply because this shoe is so important. Straight last, single density MOGO, Hydroflow and a new refined fit for a diverse crowd. "Passive Stability" was how Brooks presented this shoe upon its' first intro. We honestly sat on the sidelines for the first generation thinking the concept might not be accepted or understood. As we encountered fit issues for either the big runner who does not do well with a posted shoe, ie traditional Motion Control, or for the runner/walker with such an extremely corrective orthotic where again, a posted shoe will alter the true intent of the appliance, the single density Dyad has been really handy.

New Balance 883 $109.99 neutral

Made in Lawrence, built on SL-2, this is a shoe designed to solve many, many fit problems. Single density Absorb midsole, very broad shaped, the 883 falls right in with the best passive stability shoes. Orthotics seems to work well with 883 and those who seek a very voluminous fit also do well with 883. It is no speed machine, but not designed for speed, it is designed with a specific function.

Asics Fortitude 3  $89.99 13.3 oz. neutral

Add another to the 'passive stability' category. The newest Fortitude fit's the high volume foot very well and for the orthotic wearer, the Fortitude is stable yet is a single density midsole. 2 widths men's and women's.

Brooks Ghost III $99.99 8.8 oz. neutral

This new model emphasizes forefoot cushion in a very pronounced way. Many efficient runners don't hit very hard on the heels, and they don't exactly have to hit full forefoot to benefit from this model. The Ghost rolls smoothly for the gentle heel striker/forefoot striker. A strong heel counter, MOGO, Hydroflow and soft overlays make for a viable neutral trainer.

Stability:
Nike Zoom Strucure Triax XIV   $99.99 11.8oz/9.2oz wo's

New for 2011. Classic, versatile stability trainer with a new metatarsal pad extention in the forefoot. We just received the new GTX Structure as well.

Brooks Adrenaline X   $99.99 11.2oz/10.5oz wo's

Very good update from last season’s. We stock these in various widths and that has helped so many customers with a precise fit. High quality remains even at a lower price than 2009.

Saucony Guide III   $94.99 11.6oz/9.8oz wo's

Excellent alternative to a Adrenaline or 2150 if a softer heel hit is desired.

Saucony Hurricane XII   $139.99 13.6oz/11.3oz wo's

Solid, well made, strong following.

Mizuno Inspire VI   $99.99 12.5oz/8.1oz wo's

It has recently been revealed, Mizuno is the brand that ‘gets it’. If you’re a student of minimalist shoes, be aware Mizuno has been designing their line for a few seasons now with all of those fundamentals.

Asics GT 2150   $99.99 11.7oz/9.4oz wo's

On sale for just $79.99. We have many colors and various widths. We did just receive the 2011 version and we’ll bring you a report on those soon.

Asics Kayano XVI   $139.99 13.25oz/11.2oz wo's

On sale for $109.99 Solid, well made, great feeling and a perceivable difference compared to its’ liitle sibling, the GT-2150. Yes, we have the 2011 XVII as well.

Puma Complete Vectana II   $99.99 13.4oz/10.1oz wo's

Forget the Vectana. It’s all about the Vectana II. Great fitting and on sale for only $69.99.

Brooks Ravenna   $99.99 9 oz.
The Ravenna replaces the Axiom III. This unique lightweight stability trainer is an opportunity to experience a sloe design known as a “sprung toe’ or ‘rocker toe’ giving the feeling of a very fluent stride. Other than the McDonald’s colors in the guys, the women’s color is really nice.

NB 1225  $139.99 Now $124.99 10.5 oz.
The 1225 replaces the 1224. The new model fits much truer to size, it is lighter, and the Sabilicore helps bring the weight of the shoe down below the 1224. Still US made, 1225 is a nice option to the Kayano.

Nike Air Equalon +3 $134.99 11.8 oz stability
Nike finally has serious ammo to go up against the current boss of premium stability…the Asics Kayano. The new 2009 Equalon is built on a last which is more curved than the previous 2 editions. Nike's goal is to make the new Equalon more of a performance trainer rather than a motion control shoe. Let's leave the MC to some other options. Other changes include a split medial post giving the shoe a little torsional freedom which should kick in with the faster paced crowd. We feel the new Equalon represents Nike's re-commitment to tech running. The shoes have a rich upper, gone is the stereotypical narrow fit and overall price/value is right up there with the best.

Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 $99.99 10.0 oz. lightweight stability

Another lightweight stability trainer with one of the strongest heel counters out on the market. Mizuno uses a nice non-slip material around the heel lining combined with the Dynamotion Fit and you end up with a rear foot fit like never before in a Mizuno. Dynamotion is a clever little feature where Mizuno 'hinged' the rear from the front half of the shoe. So, in a way, the 2 portions of the shoe can accommodate the foot very nicely.

Brooks Addiction IX  $99.99 13.0 oz. stability
Not the most glamorous shoe we carry but it has its' place. The Addiction is very high quality and highly protective for the moderate to extreme over-pronator. It is one of the few shoes left in the industry to retain a Texon tuck board located in the rear foot. The benefit of such, is a solid foundation for your orthotic or Superfeet preventing the appliance from deforming the midsole or eva board of wimpier shoes.

Asics Foundation 8  $89.99 13.9 stability
We'd place this shoe boarder line motion control. The styling is great, the heel counter is super strong and the cushion/stability is just right. What distinguishes this shoe from other Asics stability models is the last is a bit straighter making it that much more stable.
Lightweight Roadracers:
Nike Free Run +   $84.99 8.8oz
Wow! Nearly sold out but we just received a new white/grey/lt. blue women’s.
Nike Luna Elite +   $99.99 11.3oz/9.0oz wo's

Unfortunately, this shoe hasn’t lived up to the Zoom Elite which it replaces. Chalk one up to the factory guys telling you something and reality telling you something else. Once in a while, or perhaps more often than we care to admit, corporations will ‘want’ us to believe something that ain’t so. Next year, let’s see if a Zoom Elite replacement becomes available.
Nike Lunar Glide +   $99.99 10.4oz
Good one. Proved to work so well for some, we have had decent repeat business on the Glide II.
Saucony Type A   $94.99 7.25oz/5.9oz wo's
It is nice to see a resurgence in the racing shoe department. Good stuff.
Mizuno Elixer V   $109.99
Lightweight and a mild stability wave plate give this shoe a spot in the Mizuno line as well as a significant spot on our shoe wall.
Mizuno Ronin II   $94.99 8.1oz
Cool styling and bonus points if you know the significance of the name Ronin.
Asics Hyperspeed IV   $74.99 7.45oz
  Great price, minimalist racer.
Asics Speedstar   $84.99 8.5oz
Sold well for us and we can’t wait for some Asics lightweight product for 2011.
Asics DS Trainer XV   $109.99 10.2oz/8.5oz wo's
Strong following but come on ladies, get over the objection to pink. It isn’t pink, it’s fuscia.
Puma Complete Road Racer III   $94.99 7.6oz
Strong sales from the Boilermaker have made this a desirable shoe. Super cool styling, fits great.

Motion Control :
Mizuno Renegade 4 $119.99 13.0 oz. motion control

Mizuno says this is the lightest motion control shoe on the market. Okay, if they say so! Give them credit for building a lighter tank! A full length Wave Plate with Sensor Points placed in locations to give a custom tuned ride sort of like self-adjusters doing their thing depending on a given amount of force. The Renegade is deep enough for an orthotic or works pretty well as is. There are a few other nice Mizuno touches such as the removal of some material at the toe cap giving the benefit of saved toes with the pronator who has a tendency to slam toes hard in the end of the shoe.

Saucony Stabil CS  $114.99 motion control

This is a super nice update to the previous model. It is lighter, and softer. We stock this in 2 widths both men’s and women’s. The Stabil is close in character to the Omni but it is built on a true straight last plus the medial post goes very forward addressing the needs of the late stage pronator. Orthotics should fit really cozy or if worn as-is, the insole is a high quality piece which gives a good feel under heel and arch

Brooks Beast and Ariel   $129.99 14.0 oz. motion control
This is the epitome of motion control shoes. Brooks actually curved the last just a little and yet did not take any stability away from the model that is #1. MOGO midsole is more durable than ever, high quality urethane based insole is very soft. One doesn't necessarily have to pigeon hole the Beast and Ariel for heavy runners. It is a maximum stability story told with the shoe that earns the top spot in the industry for motion control.
